Installation View of Echo Chamber
Inspired by ephemeral traces of object memory, artists and designers Anika Larsen and Kristen Chiu respond to the unknown variables of working together with natural materials. Relying heavily on time to create layered tactility, Echo Chamber presents a liminal space of introspection and observation.
The excavation of both familiar and abstracted motifs are linked through hand sewn and embroidered thread. Found rocks echo throughout the space juxtaposing intimate floor works. Dependent on daylight for exposure, the recurring cyanotypes draw attention to the length of time an object exists. Echo Chamber seeks to preserve impermanence through connecting some sentimental, some seemingly random, and yet still useful objects.
